Deep Wild: Writings from the Backcountry
The 2022 issue of Deep Wild: Writing from the Backcountry offers our largest gathering yet of writing inspired by places where there are no roads, by 25 poets, 6 fiction writers, and 20 essayists—including the winners of the Deep Wild Graduate Student Essay Contest. Also featured is a portfolio of multi-media work by California-based artist Andie Thrams. The cover art is by Utah artist Bessann Swanson.
Deep Wild Journal, now entering its fifth year, is the home for creative work inspired by journeys to places where there are no roads. Each summer we produce a high-quality, portable, durable journal that is perfect for your own backcountry journeys, whether they be on foot, by boat, or in your easy chair. The journal is printed on FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper in a durable, compact format. It wants to go camping!
Deep Wild: Writing from the Backcountry is available at Jackson Hole Book Trader.
Authors will be reading from Deep Wild: Writing from the Backcountry and sharing their stories at the Book Trader, starting at 7pm on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Book signing to follow. Refreshments will be served. This is a free event, no ticket required.
